8X8 led matrix

The led matrix module is actually based on the MAX7219 chip, which is a compact serial input common cathode driver that interfaces microcontrollers to LED matrices.

You can connect all common microcontrollers to this module using a 4-wire serial interface.

It offers addressable capability without refreshing the entire screen. This module only requires 3 I/O lines to drive the display, making the 8×8 led matrix ideal for use in your microcontroller projects. You can examine the 8×8 Led Matrix module used in the Otto robot project and you can also make the Otto project.
