The higher the torque we want to get even higher voltage, but these most commonly work with no more than +5V. In fact, almost all hobby motors can only rotate between 0Β° and 180Β° due to the gear arrangement they have on them. For this reason, these servos can be selected to use in projects that we can operate with a semi-circle or; Servos that rotate from 0Β° to 360Β° may prefer.
The plastic gears in the engines are easily subject to wear and tear as they work. Therefore, if our application requires more powerful and long-running motors, metal gears can be switched.
After these options, the torque speed at which the engine operates is the most important parameter. Again, there are many options for torque. Commonly used among these options is the 2.5 kg / cm torque that comes with the sg90 servo. This is 2.5 kg / cm of torque; It means that the motor can pull 2.5 kg while suspended at a distance of 1 cm. In fact, if you suspend the load at 2 cm, the motor can also pull a load of 5 kg. You can select a suitable torque motor according to the load depending on the project you are using.
Selected Servo Motor Connection and Usage
After choosing the right servo motor for the project in the previous step, the question of how to use it comes to mind. The SG90 servo connects with three different cables. To turn a motor, we can power the motor with +5V by making the connections of the red energy wire and the brown ground wire. We need to send the PWM signals with the orange colored wire. Therefore, we will need a state that can generate PWM signals for the servo to work. These signals are; It can be produced on other platforms such as PIC, Arduino, ARM as well as a microprocessor such as Raspberry Pie.
